Is Play Therapy Right for my Child?

Behind every behaviour is a feeling that needs to be understood.   You might be noticing changes in your child that are difficult to understand.  Perhaps they are:

  • Struggling with big emotions or sudden outbursts.

  • Emotional outbursts or anger.

  • Feeling anxious, worried, or overwhelmed.

  • Becoming quiet, withdrawn, or harder to reach.

  • Finding school, friendships, or change is difficult.

Children and teenagers may not always have the words to explain how they feel.  Instead, their emotions are often expressed through behaviour.  These challenges don’t always go away on their own, and early support can make a lasting difference.

Play therapy allows children and teenagers to express thoughts and feelings that they may not yet be able to say.

At Silent Stories, our range of  therapies and supports available for children, adolescents, and parents/carers allows:

  • Exploration and processing of emotions.

  • Building of confidence and resilience.

  • Developing healthier ways of coping.

  • Space to be heard, understood, and supported.

If you’re unsure whether play therapy is right for your child, you’re welcome to get in touch.
