Therapeutic Support for Young People
As play therapy is suitable for children aged 3-18 years, we offer a safe, consistent space where teenagers can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences through the therapeutic relationship. Using creative and developmentally appropriate techniques, we work together to make sense of emotions, build resilience, and support emotional wellbeing. Sessions are tailored to the individual child helping them to process their experiences and develop healthier ways of coping and expressing themselves.

Filial Therapy
The Guerney model of Filial Therapy involves parents or carers directly in the therapeutic process. This evidence-based, psychoeducational family intervention involves play sessions with the parent/carer's and child together. Families learn techniques to improve communication, strengthen and repair attachment bonds, and promote healing. This approach empowers parents/carer's with skills to support their child’s emotional development at home. Research evidences that it is particularly beneficial for families who have children aged 3-12 years who have experienced adoption, fostering and divorce.

Family Support
The child's behaviour is communication. Our task together is to understand the story underneath. Recognising that parents and carers play an incredibly important role in the life of the child or teenager, our family support sessions help the adults in the life of the child to appreciate their child's emotional world and offer strategies that enable their adult support network to manage more effectively.

Bespoke Training
Silent Stories provides a range of training services aimed at helping individuals, families, professionals and organisations. This can include a better understanding of children's emotional and developmental challenges, using child-friendly language with children and teenagers with confidence and understanding key clinical constructs to deepen the connection with children and adolescents in everyday practice. Bespoke sessions can be tailored to meet individual needs.
