There is a growing awareness of the importance of children’s emotional well-being. Many parents are noticing changes in their children, whether that is anxiety, emotional overwhelm, school avoidance, behavioural difficulties, or challenges linked to life events and transitions.
At the same time, services, both statutory and third sector, are often under increasing pressure, and families can find themselves waiting for the support they feel that their child needs.
Introducing Silent Stories Child & Adolescent Therapies:
Silent Stories was created in response to this need. As a private play therapy practice based in Inverclyde, but operating across Renfrewshire, Dumbartonshire and Glasgow, Silent Stories offers a calm, consistent, and accessible space where children and adolescents can begin to make sense of their conscious and unconscious experiences in a way that feels natural to them.
Play therapy is a child-led, trauma informed, attachment based, non-directive therapeutic intervention that allows children and teenagers to express themselves through play rather than words.
This can be especially helpful for children who:
Struggle to talk about their feelings.
Have experienced change or difficult life events.
Show neurodiverse or developmental challenges.
Or experience many more difficulties.
Through play therapy, children and teenagers can safely explore their thoughts, and feelings in a way that respects their individual experiences at their own pace.
Supporting Children Across Inverclyde, Renfrewshire and West Scotland:
At Silent Stories, sessions are designed to feel safe, welcoming, and consistent.
Children are supported to:
Express themselves freely.
Build emotional awareness.
Develop confidence and resilience.
Feel understood without pressure.
About the Therapist:
Silent Stories is led by Claire Brown, a Britsh Association of Play Therapists (BAPT) trained and qualified Play Therapist. Claire works in line with the BAPT's Ethical Basis for Good Practice and engages in ongoing professional development, clinical supervision, and safeguarding requirements.
Her approach is grounded in providing a safe, reflective, and emotionally attuned space for every child.
A Personal and Responsive Service:
As a private therapy service, Silent Stories offers a more personal and responsive approach, helping families access support in a way that feels manageable and timely.
Services include:
For many parents, reaching out for support can feel like a significant step.
